O Monot Accessories The new luxury boutique hotel in Beirut

A new boutique hotel has arrived in Beirut and O Monot offers everything you could want from a stay in Lebanon’s buzzing capital – the perfect location, wonderful service and delightful decor.

Named after its setting on Rue Monot and tucked away behind pretty Saifi Village in historic Ashrafieh, the hotel is in a fabulous spot to explore the neighborhoods of upmarket Downtown and bohemian Gemmayzeh on a city break in Beirut.

Designed by the famous Claude Missir, the style of 41-room O Monot, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, is minimalist, contemporary and trendy, while boasting a home-from-home feel, unique interiors and intimate spaces. The rooms are extremely spacious and feature beds that appear as though they are floating, hi-tech lighting and huge bathrooms kitted out with modern bathtubs, large showers and luxury Plantation toiletries. You won’t find paper ‘do not disturb’ signs in this hotel either, as guests request this and for their rooms to be made up via a touchscreen.

You can watch the TV from the comfort of your bed or bathtub. The room offers a lovely balcony view of Monot Street below and a seriously cozy king size bed. While you will probably spend most of your trip exploring the sights and sounds of Beirut, when you do retire to your room, you’ll find a huge selection of TV channels and a minibar stocked with snacks and drinks.

Around O Monot, there are beautiful spaces to relax, take in the city views and socialize. The lobby is stunning with its deep purple check-in desk, fresh flowers and comfy leather seating area. The fireplace and television add to its destination lobby style, as well as the bar towards the back of the reception area, where you will find more seating and a chess table. Everything you see at the hotel has been handpicked by its Lebanese owners, from the Murano glass ash trays to the Chinese antiques in the lobby.

Dining at the hotel is a treat and the restaurant is elegant and stylish, featuring dark brown leather sofas and design-led tables and chairs for the Henge collection, as well as offering diners fantastic views over the rooftops of Beirut and the Mediterranean Sea that was specially designed by Exteta Zen Line. If you fancy dining al-fresco, the rooftop is a marvelous spot to experience a great atmosphere and food. The dishes at O Monot’s restaurant are creative and astoundingly good. The fusion menu’s delectable options include Thai shrimp salad, grilled Angus beef tenderloin with French fries, and mini chicken skewers marinated with coriander. The desserts are divine too. The French chef makes the ice cream in-house, and you’ll find it difficult to choose between the profiteroles, crème brûlée and macaroons!

Guests who fancy cooling off in the heat of summer can take a dip in the rooftop swimming pool and there are sun loungers for soaking up the rays. Whether during the day or after dark, O Monot’s rooftop is not to be missed and provides the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city below.

During your time at the hotel, you should take some time explore Ashrafieh. O Monot’s location gives you the chance to see Lebanese locals going about their daily business, discover some of Beirut’s architectural marvels and eat at amazing Lebanese restaurants.

The buildings surrounding the hotel boast some of the most impressive architecture you’ll see in Beirut, and by just going for a stroll you will come across colonial houses, charming churches and inspiring street art. If you’re looking for Lebanese food, Abdel Wahab on Abdel Wahab el Inglizi Street is a favorite among locals for its typical mezzes and grilled meat, as well the beautiful terrace.
